THE NAMING OF THE BRITISH GARDEN, HANOVER SQUARE

The British Memorial Garden Trust was honoured on May 29, 2009 when HRH Prince Henry of Wales visited the Park as part of his official visit to New York.

Founders, directors, supporters and friends gathered with crowds of onlookers as HRH arrived for the official City Naming of British Garden at Hanover Square.

The ceremony was led by City of New York Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe. Following the ceremony HRH undertook the planting of a Magnolia as part of the NY One Million Tree project.
